Key Takeaways You May Have Noted Include:

  • Why perfectionism is not good for you and is toxic.
  • What have past guests shared about perfectionism (and why it’s toxic)
  • How to lay the foundation you need to help you survive crises and traumas and thrive – quiet time (prayer / meditation), community, journaling, and other tools or resources
  • Finding your catalyst to start your anti-perfectionism journey (I shared mine in video)
  • I asked, “Has life just been happening to you?” and discussed why sometimes we just have life happening to us all of the time
  • What does it mean to “plant your seeds of transformation”?
  • How long does transformation take?
  • What community could look like for you
  • How you can recognize your most common distractions to getting quiet and listening more to your own heart

On a final note, I just wanted to share that perfectionism really is about striving to change things that you really cannot change and/or about looking like you are perfect when it’s literally impossible for any human to be completely perfect all at one time. It’s basically a big lie or a big delusion. I don’t know about you, but I refuse to keep being delusional. I want real transformation for myself and for my family, and I refuse to just go after the things that just make us look good at the expense of the things that help us really be good permanently from the inside out.

Leadership Development for Black Woman-Led Small Businesses

Daily writing prompt
What topics do you like to discuss?

Even though black women in corporate America may be receiving opportunities for professional leadership development, small business leaders are often not investing the time and money for themselves and for their teams, if they have teams. Providing both inspiration and information that speaks to their specific unique needs as black women who are pursuing lofty goals can make a difference between success and failure for them.

As the founder and host of this podcast show, my lofty goal is to be an ongoing resource for the black woman leader who has survived crisis and trauma. My hope is that she can gain more self-awareness and pursue her dream of making a bigger impact no matter the size of her small business. I would love to stay in touch with you about what’s going on with the show. Please join my newsletter email list below.

Black Women Leaders who own Small/Micro/Solo businesses:

Do you want to have your business make more impact in the world?

Are you a conscious selfless servant but not sure about how you can make a bigger impact?

Even when it’s not intentional, even the smallest drip of water creates a ripple effect across the whole pond. So, “small business” is a misnomer because, with intentionality, you can make a big positive impact on the world.

Throughout this podcast we have addressed issues that impact the mindsets of black women leaders including perfectionistic tendencies, low self-esteem, and more. I wrote this book because I am well aware that many of us black women leaders have a hard time seeing ourselves as leaders and/or seeing ourselves being able to make big impact when our businesses are underfunded, undervalued, and overlooked. However, there are ways to get around any obstacle, as long as you keep your hope alive.

I hope my book will help you to keep your hope alive.

God bless you.
